Six down!

I started the South Beach Diet on December 31. I decided to do it a day before New Years because I didn't want it to be a resolution. Resolutions never work...at least for me. So, today is my fourth day in and I am six pounds down! I'm certain some of it is water weight, but I have cut out ALL sugary items, no breads or pastas, no junk food and no calorie/sugar laden drinks. I have 2 cups of black tea each day and eggs for breakfast. TONS of vegetables. Like 2 cups of vegetables with each meal. I love the mushrooms and peppers!! It's difficult when I get hungry and I go into the kitchen and it's not meal time. I really WANT to munch on chips and make toast with jam because it's tasty and so easy, but now I have to find other options. Turns out there are plenty of tasty snacks that are much healthier than what I was eating before. Turkey pepperoni, Swiss cheese wedges, Turkey bacon...these things I would never have tried before, and they're so yummy! I can even have cut vegetables with some homemade Ranch Dressing!! So these first two weeks will be difficult I know, but if I can lose six pounds in 4 days, then I am happy to imagine how much I can lose in another 10!

I hope I will be back here in a few weeks talking about how I need to buy smaller pants!
